National excellence
U.S. News & World Report evaluated thousands of hospitals to produce its respected report of the nation's best. In 2024-25, The University of Kansas Hospital ranked among the top 50 programs in these 6 adult medical and surgical specialties:
- Cancer (No. 49)
- Cardiology, Heart and Vascular Surgery (No. 46)
- Ear, Nose and Throat (No. 41)
- Geriatrics (No. 32)
- Neurology and Neurosurgery (No. 26)

About the rankings
Since 1990, U.S. News & World Report's best hospitals ranking has served as a respected source for identifying quality healthcare providers. The rankings highlight medical centers that excel in high-risk inpatient care and complex procedures.
U.S. News evaluates measures such as patient survival, advanced technologies, patient safety and hospital reputation. The resulting best hospitals are organized into specialty areas and updated every July.
