Kansas City, Kan. – Our primary care team is proud to welcome 4 internal medicine physicians who have joined The University of Kansas Health System. These physicians once provided patient care as part of St. Luke’s Internal Medicine, which operates at St. Luke’s Perryman Primary Care Plaza.

“This is a real win,” Rita Hyde, MD, clinical services chief for community primary care, said. “These physicians are fully invested in their patients. We see high ratings from their patients and physician colleagues that validate that investment. “

We invite patients of these physicians to continue seeking care from the doctors they have come to know and trust. One benefit of this transition is that, as part of the health system, these physicians can provide you access to the advanced specialty care available only at the region’s premier academic medical center and Kansas City’s No. 1 hospital as ranked by U.S. News & World Report.

As part of our health system, these physicians will see patients in locations in Overland Park, Shawnee and Westwood, Kansas.

In Overland Park at the Corporate Medical Plaza at 10787 Nall Ave.:

In Shawnee at KU MedWest at 7405 Renner Road:

In Westwood at the Westwood Medical Pavilion at 2650 Shawnee Mission Pkwy.:

Our health system accepts most insurance plans and participates in 1 of the 25 nationally recognized regions for Primary Care First. Primary Care First is an alternative payment model that places priority on patients by emphasizing the doctor-patient relationship.

Some services are available at our primary care locations for no additional copay. These include:

  • Nutrition counseling
  • Medication management by a pharmacist
  • Psychology/behavioral health screenings

Our health system also offers a secure MyChart patient portal to streamline your health management. This portal is similar to the one St. Luke’s offers. The portal allows you to schedule appointments, communicate with your care team, view test results, prepare for visits and pay your bills. To set up your health system MyChart account, sign up as a new user here.

If you are already a patient of one of these physicians and wish to see them again for a return or follow-up visit, call 913-588-1227. Your doctor will have access to your past medical records and will provide you with seamless continued care now and into the future.
